SOLVE IN TERRA II
(i let you wound me)
I search for you. everywhere. all have led me astray. in the black night where no light exists, none have given me light. I've walked a while into the mine corridor. I stop where people once left things scattered, lost.
my father appears from the other corridor. it's cold and my arms are naked. I'm very shaken, I can't hide it, my father sees my grief, hears my deep silence. he takes from the pile of scatered things a small monitor where a screen shows the moving image of a sound going deeper down the mine. he looks to the screen, approaches it, tells me:
- pretend you're watching the screen.
I look to the screen, devoid. the death squad passes in the pathway nearby us, all ahead, in troop, marching in black, large weapons against their shoulders. we watch the screen in silence. they disappear, their steps at a distance. my father's hand points at the screen, I know now, I maintain my attention on the screen.
"and now their hunger", he speaks, near my shoulder, as the troop advances visible in the screen, "is our sweat", he speaks, as the troop, in the silence of the screen, disintegrates itself, demolished from inside, like collapsing skyscrapers of rubble.
